SYNERGY ONSITE
Septic Solutions
Our Story
Every business has a beginning, this one happens to start with us, John Paul New and Erin Kinny. We are Husband and Wife and the Owners of Synergy Onsite Septic Solutions. Separately, we grew up in South and Central Texas, however we both have always had a longing for the outdoors. John Paul would be playing baseball, or visiting the family’s cabin; we both rode our bikes everywhere, often looking for a place to swim in. Erin was drawn more to trekking around and exploring the woods to find bugs and nature’s treasures. If it was outside odds, are we were down for it. Other than loving the outdoors; John Paul realized earlier on that living in the modern civilized world requires money. So, as a youth he discovered that doing things for others- that they don't like or want to do was a great way to acquire money. Erin was not as business-like and was more scientific and fonder to learning about animals or to figure out engineering of how things worked and why. We met and dated at Leander High School; although it was short lived as Erin was moving and John Paul was graduating. However, later in life our paths crossed, and we merged our lives again. When the time came Erin not only encouraged but also supported John Paul to go out of his own to start a septic company. Shortly on my journey I in turn asked Erin not to work at the Veterinary Hospital and to join him as a partner and help build Synergy Onsite Septic Solutions.
John Paul’s informal education as an entrepreneur was almost instantaneous. One day, in the Fall of his Sixth-Grade year; he was living in Minnesota at the time. I was outside bottle feeding a baby Raccoon that we were caring for named Roscoe. He was a rescue, as his pregnant mother had fallen down our chimney when my Stepdad opened the flute to make a fire. My elderly neighbor was letting out her little dog when I asked if she was going to apple sauce for an army with all the fallen apples in her yards. She said no that she just throws them all away now her boys were grown. She said she hires some kids from church every year to come bag then all up and take them away. I thought to myself picking apple I could-so, I offered up my assistance. In half a day’s work I made as much money as half a year’s worth of allowance doing. From that point on I was hooked. That fall I was raking leaves into winter where I then started shoveling snow off driveways. That following Spring we moved to Oklahoma City. There I started mowing a couple of neighboring yards; but by 9th grade, after moving back to Texas my lawn services for more than 40 yards in 3 neighborhoods.
After high school I went to Art school but called it quits after a year or so, partially for a general discontent with computers but also out of fear of being stuck in a cubicle for the rest of my life. Then, I tried cooking professionally in hopes of becoming a Chef; only to realized that as a young family man I needed a better income and work schedule. Through a family contact he met father/son septic operation who had a massive perimeter with a vast diversity in different types, ages and sizes of septic systems. It was there where I learned most of my understanding of on-site septic while developing and a new fascination of running heavy machines and equipment. During this new journey I noticed a familiarness and reconnection to an old kindship with the outdoors. As a lover of Mother Nature, my enter Hippie enjoyed knowing not only was I helping other Texans with their septic; but I also was helping protect the Texas environment that I have always had a deep love and respect for at the same time. As things began to truly galvanize with me and this new craft; I met Craig Sellman Owner of Sellman Enterprises and Affordable Concrete, once Master Plumber interim Septic Installer 1 then 2, Septic Pumper and then tank Pre-caster. Craig is the one who encouraged me to branch out and in doing so introduced him to a gentleman named Raymond Vallejo Sr. Septic. Raymond is the one who assisted me in my apprenticeship and acquiring my necessary licenses. Although Craig retired from the business, I still use his son's services for material from time to time and his old pumping company even though it was sold. Raymond and I still do calibrations together on jobs.
From the beginning we have always been a local family owned and operated company. Slowly expanding adding Wife Erin and Mother Charlotte who are working as behind scenes heroes. Rest in peace Mom! Even had both my brothers Justin and Cody at one point as well as son Korbin and stepson Jude at times. Then eventually we grew to the point I add lifelong friend and old kitchen compadre Juan Pablo “JP” Chairez along with my old partner in crime for prior company Pedro Arroyo and his son Fabian. Teaming up to what we believe is the best, well-rounded septic company in Capital area of Texas. Together we make Synergy Onsite Septic Solutions, and our goal is to offer you and your family property(s), "Professional, Knowledgeable and Honest" septic services and to help you through your sanitation hardships, ongoings, beginnings and even the ends.
